Certified Therapy dogs may visit hospitals, nursing homes, schools and other facilities, bringing happiness and good cheer, even education, to patients and others. Therapy dogs may be purebred or mixed breed, but all must be certified to have the right temperament and level of obedience by one of the non-profit therapy dog agencies.
Paula Bensel, long-time YKC member and past President, has been visiting nursing homes with her French bulldogs for quite some time. Most recently the Yuma Daily Sun printed a picture of Paula's newest Therapy Dog, Cleo, an Irish Wolfhound.
Kudos to Paula and her dogs for all their good work!
