HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS
The Yuma Kennel Club offers a scholarship each year to qualified high school seniors who plan to pursue higher education in an animal-related field. We provide the high schools with applications each year, or you may click application to view the instructions and application form. Save this PDF file onto your computer. Our annual scholarship committee reviews the applications we receive, and may interview students before making a decision. We usually award a scholarship to only one or two students each year. You will be notified within about four to six weeks after receipt of your application as to its status.
POST-SECONDARY STUDENTS The Yuma Kennel Club is proud to offer a $1,200 Post-Secondary Scholarship for the 2010-2011 school year. This scholarship is open to former Yuma county high school students currently pursuing degrees in veterinary medicine, veterinary research, and veterinary technician programs. Kennel Club (YKC), presents a $1,200 scholarship award to Kofa High School graduating senior Caitlin LeeAnn Leonard. Ms. Leonard was admitted to the prestigious University of Arizona Honors College as an animal science major. This fall she will begin academic coursework leading to a goal of becoming a veterinarian. The YKC expects to continue to offer this scholarship annually to
qualified Yuma County high school graduating seniors who
plan to pursue a career in animal science. The YKC scholarship goal is to support students who plan to become veterinarians and return to the Yuma community. |
